Accident / Injury Insurance
Cash benefits paid directly to you after covered accidental injuries
- Cash paid directly to you after covered accidents
- Benefits for ER visits, hospitalizations, fractures, and more
Overview
Accident and injury insurance pays cash benefits directly to you after covered accidental injuries. Benefits may be triggered by emergency room visits, hospitalizations, fractures, dislocations, burns, lacerations, ambulance transport, and other covered events resulting from an accident — regardless of what your health insurance pays.
How It Works
After a covered accident, you file a claim with the carrier. Upon approval, a cash benefit is paid directly to you — not to a doctor or hospital. You can use the money however you need: medical bills, deductibles, lost income, or everyday expenses while you recover.
Key Benefits
- Cash paid directly to you after covered accidents
- Benefits for ER visits, hospitalizations, fractures, and more
- Can be used for any expense — no restrictions
- Often available without a medical exam
Typical Covered Benefits
- Emergency room treatment benefit
- Hospitalization benefit per day
- Fracture and dislocation benefit
- Ambulance benefit
- Follow-up care and physical therapy benefit
Who This Plan May Be Right For
- Active individuals and families
- Self-employed and gig workers (rideshare, delivery, freelance) without employer benefits
- Those with high-deductible health plans
- Parents with children in sports or active activities
Benefits vary by policy. Review policy documents for covered events, exclusions, and benefit amounts.

Hospital Indemnity / Cancer & Critical Illness
Fixed hospital benefits plus lump-sum cash on a covered diagnosis
- Fixed daily hospital benefit paid directly to you
- Lump-sum cash on covered cancer or critical illness diagnosis
Overview
This category combines three powerful supplemental coverages. Hospital indemnity plans pay a fixed daily cash benefit for each day you are hospitalized. Cancer insurance pays benefits upon a covered cancer diagnosis and during treatment. Critical illness insurance pays a lump-sum benefit upon diagnosis of a covered condition such as heart attack or stroke — all paid directly to you.
How It Works
Hospital indemnity: upon admission, the plan pays a fixed daily benefit (e.g., $200/day) for each covered day. Cancer: after a covered diagnosis, benefits are paid for treatment including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Critical illness: a lump-sum benefit is paid upon diagnosis of a covered condition — use it for any expense.
Key Benefits
- Fixed daily hospital benefit paid directly to you
- Lump-sum cash on covered cancer or critical illness diagnosis
- Benefits paid regardless of other insurance
- No network restrictions — use any hospital
Typical Covered Benefits
- Daily hospital confinement benefit
- ICU confinement benefit
- Initial cancer diagnosis benefit
- Chemotherapy and radiation benefit
- Heart attack / stroke lump-sum benefit
Who This Plan May Be Right For
- Anyone with a health plan that has high out-of-pocket costs
- Individuals with a personal or family history of cancer or heart disease
- Self-employed and gig workers without paid sick leave
- Anyone seeking financial protection beyond health insurance
Benefit amounts, covered conditions, and waiting periods vary by policy and carrier. Not a substitute for major medical insurance.

Life Insurance & Living Benefits
Protect your family — and access benefits while you're still alive
- Death benefit paid to beneficiaries
- Living benefits accessible upon qualifying diagnosis
Overview
Life insurance provides a death benefit to your beneficiaries upon your passing. Many modern life insurance policies also include living benefit riders that allow you to access a portion of your death benefit while you are still alive — upon diagnosis of a terminal, chronic, or critical illness. Term and permanent options are available.
How It Works
You pay a premium in exchange for a death benefit paid to your named beneficiaries. With living benefit riders, if you are diagnosed with a qualifying condition, you may access a portion of the death benefit early to cover medical costs, lost income, or any other expense — without waiting for a death claim.
Key Benefits
- Death benefit paid to beneficiaries
- Living benefits accessible upon qualifying diagnosis
- Term and permanent options available
- May be available without a full medical exam (simplified issue)
Typical Covered Benefits
- Death benefit
- Terminal illness accelerated benefit
- Chronic illness living benefit rider
- Critical illness living benefit rider
- Cash value accumulation (permanent plans)
Who This Plan May Be Right For
- Anyone with dependents who rely on their income
- Self-employed and gig workers without employer life insurance
- Those with mortgage or debt obligations
- Individuals who want financial protection during a serious illness
Coverage amounts, premiums, living benefit eligibility, and definitions vary by age, health, and carrier. Review policy documents carefully.

Disability Income Insurance
Replace a portion of your income if you cannot work
- Monthly income replacement benefit
- Short-term and long-term options available
Overview
Disability income insurance replaces a portion of your income if an injury or illness prevents you from working. Short-term and long-term options are available. This coverage is especially important for self-employed workers, gig workers, and independent contractors who do not have employer-sponsored disability benefits.
How It Works
If you become disabled due to a covered illness or injury, the plan pays a monthly benefit — typically a percentage of your pre-disability income — after an elimination period. Benefits continue for the benefit period specified in your policy, helping you meet financial obligations while you recover.
Key Benefits
- Monthly income replacement benefit
- Short-term and long-term options available
- Covers both accident and illness disabilities
- Own-occupation and any-occupation definitions available
Typical Covered Benefits
- Monthly disability benefit
- Partial disability benefit
- Rehabilitation benefit
- Return-to-work benefit
- Cost of living adjustment (select plans)
Who This Plan May Be Right For
- Self-employed workers, gig workers, and independent contractors
- Those without employer-sponsored disability coverage
- Individuals whose income depends on their ability to work
- Anyone who wants income protection beyond workers' compensation
Benefit amounts, elimination periods, and benefit periods vary by policy. Disability definitions vary by carrier.
